East Sussex Regulatory Framework

The East Sussex Regulatory Framework governs how schools in the county should be financially managed and the financial relationship between schools and East Sussex County Council. Each Children’s Services Authority has its own regulatory and funding framework, which is based on acts of parliament and statutory guidance. The key documents for the East Sussex framework are listed below.

Scheme For Financing Schools

The scheme sets out the financial relationship between the Local Authority and the maintained schools which it funds. It contains the rules, requirements and regulations relating to financial management and associated issues which are binding on both the Local Authority and its schools.

Model Scheme Of Delegation

The model scheme gives an example of how the Governing Body could allocate responsibilities between themselves, the Finance Committee (or equivalent) and other school staff. Governing bodies may decide to delegate their responsibilities in a different way, but they must ensure that they comply with the relevant regulations.
